WHEN DIRECT SELLING STARTS THINKING LIKE RETAIL
What if the greatest threat to Direct Selling is not coming from outside the industry — but from the way the industry is beginning to think about itself?
THE IDEA
For decades, Direct Selling has learned to respond to external pressure — from regulators, media and competitors. But a more fundamental transformation may be happening from within.
As companies adopt retail-style promotions, pricing logic, performance indicators and marketing practices, individual decisions may appear commercially sensible. Together, however, they can begin to redefine the business itself.
The question is not whether Direct Selling should learn from retail. It is whether, in doing so, it risks forgetting what made the channel different in the first place.
