Paper No.4
THE Standard paradox
If every distributor explains your company differently...
do you actually have one company?
THE IDEA
Great organisations are often built around great people. But people change, markets evolve and successful leaders naturally develop their own ways of doing things.
Without clear standards, interpretation slowly replaces intention.
Standards are therefore not about bureaucracy, uniformity or control. They create a common language — one that allows ordinary people to create extraordinary experiences with confidence.
The strongest organisations do not simply copy the behaviour of their most successful leaders. They observe what works, turn experience into organisational knowledge, and preserve the principles that made success possible.
Great standards are not designed to make people identical. They make excellence repeatable.
